FLYi will not make Feb. 15 interest payment on convertibles

By Ellen Chang

Houston, Feb. 16 - FLYi, Inc. said Wednesday it will not make the Feb. 15 interest payment on its 6% convertible notes due 2034 because it is still negotiating with aircraft lenders and lessors to restructure its obligations.

FLYi , the Dulles-Va.-based parent of low-fare airline Independence Air, said it plans to make the payment before the 30-day grace period expires if it is able to conclude its ongoing restructuring efforts.
