Dura operating loss slides to $2.34 million for month ended April 27

Pittsburgh, May 28 - Dura Automotive Systems, Inc. reported a $2.34 million operating loss for the four weeks ended April 27 on total sales of $52.69 million, according to its monthly operating report filed Wednesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The results showed a decline over a $723,000 operating loss for the five weeks ended March 30 on $67.14 million in total sales.

The April net loss was $11.2 million, widening from a $10.73 million net loss for the previous period.

The company had $5.22 million of cash and cash equivalents at April 27, compared with $6.05 million at March 30.

Dura, a Rochester Hills, Mich.-based automotive parts maker, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 30, 2006 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. Its Chapter 11 case number is 06-11202.
