S&P affirms Delta Air Lines, ups two EETCs

S&P said it affirmed most of its ratings, including its BBB- issuer credit rating, on Delta Air Lines Inc. The outlook remains stable.

S&P raised its issue ratings on the Delta 2012-1 Class B enhanced equipment trust certificates (EETCs) to BBB+ from BBB and on the Northwest Airlines Inc. (now merged into Delta) 2002-1 class G2 certificates to A from A-.

“In both cases this reflected debt amortization in excess of aircraft depreciation that led to better-than-expected collateral coverage that we believe will persist,” S&P said in a news release.
