Moody’s changes Costa Rica to negative

Moody's Investors Service said it changed the outlook on the Government of Costa Rica's Ba1 issuer rating to negative from stable.

At the same time, the agency affirmed Costa Rica's Ba1 senior unsecured and issuer ratings.

The decision to change the outlook reflects Moody's expectation that the lack of political consensus to reduce the fiscal deficit will continue to put pressure on the government's rising debt burden.
