Fitch affirms Conseco

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed all ratings assigned to Conseco Inc. and its affiliates.

The outlook remains negative.

The agency said that the rating action follows Conseco's announcement of plans to spin-off Conseco Senior Health Insurance Co. into a trust for the benefit of the long-term care policyholders.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and is targeted to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2008, Fitch said.
