Congoleum gets order extending exclusivity periods

Washington, May 18 - Congoleum Corp. will have the exclusive right to file a reorganization plan until Oct. 26, and until Dec. 24 to solicit votes, according to an order filed Monday afternoon by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey.

In its request, Congoleum said it wanted the extensions to maintain control over the reorganization process should the plan not be confirmed.

The confirmation hearing is scheduled for July 22.

The Mercerville, N.J.-based flooring company filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 31, 2003. Congoleum's Chapter 11 case number is 03-51524.
