Fitch affirms Berkshire Hathaway

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed Berkshire Hathaway Inc.'s long-term issuer default rating at AA- and its senior unsecured debt at A+.

The outlook is stable.

The agency said the ratings are supported by Berkshire Hathaway’s “most favorable" business profile with a unique insurance franchise that has major positions in reinsurance and personal auto.

In addition, the company has major operations in railroads, finance and utilities and energy, Fitch added.
