Fitch rates Berkshire Hathaway notes A+

Fitch Ratings said it assigned an A+ rating to the $2.35 billion of senior notes issued by Berkshire Hathaway Finance Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc.

The proceeds will be used to refinance senior notes.

“BRK's consolidated financial leverage ratio was 21% as of June 30, 2018, and this ratio is not expected to materially change given the modest size of the new issuance relative to outstanding debt,” the agency said in a news release.

“Further, this level of financial leverage would not trigger any rating sensitivities.”
