Moody’s rates Scotia certificates A2

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned an A2 rating to Bank of Nova Scotia Houston Branch's bail-inable Yankee certificate of deposit.

“Moody's assigned a junior senior unsecured rating to the bail-inable Yankee CD issued by BNS Houston Branch, matching BNS's junior senior rating. Bank of Nova Scotia Houston Branch forms part of the same legal entity as BNS and in the absence of a different deposit or debt ceiling, is assigned the same rating as the bank,” Moody’s said in a press release.

The outlook is stable.
