Fitch rates Banco Santander Chile notes A+

Fitch Ratings said it assigned an expected long-term foreign-currency rating of A+ to Banco Santander Chile's (A+/negative/F1) $750 million senior fixed-rate notes due 2022.

The ratings are driven by the bank's intrinsic credit quality, which reflects its strong franchise in Chile, sound asset quality, adequate capitalization and very strong profitability, and ample liquidity that benefits from a large base of retail deposits, according to the agency.
