Armstrong Flooring asks court for lengthy exclusivity extension

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., Sept. 2 – Armstrong Flooring, Inc. is seeking an extension of its exclusive periods to file and solicit votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to a motion filed Friday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Specifically, the company asked the court to extend the plan filing period through Jan. 3 from Sept. 5 and the solicitation period through March 6, 2023 from Nov. 4.

Armstrong said that during its time in Chapter 11, it has made significant and material progress in administering its cases, including selling substantially all of the debtors’ assets.

The extension will provide the debtors and their advisers the opportunity to evaluate whether a Chapter 11 plan can be developed or whether an alternative exit is more appropriate, and to conduct necessary negotiations with the debtors’ constituents, Armstrong said.

A hearing is scheduled for Oct. 12.

The Lancaster, Pa.-based flooring designer and manufacturer filed bankruptcy on May 8 under Chapter 11 case number 22-10426.
