Former Associated Wholesalers requests 65-day exclusivity extension

By Mark Reccek

Bethlehem, Pa., Oct. 22 – ADI Liquidation, Inc., formerly Associated Wholesalers, Inc., requested court approval to extend its exclusive periods for filing a Chapter 11 plan of reorganization and soliciting votes on the plan, according to a motion filed Wednesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company is requesting an extension on its exclusive filing period through Dec. 30 from Oct. 26 and an extension of the solicitation period through Feb. 24 from Dec. 21.

The company said the size and complexity of the cases, along with progress made to date, justify granting the exclusivity extension request.

“The debtors also require sufficient time to consider plan structure alternatives and the financial implications of each so that the resulting plan serves the best interests of the debtors and their creditors,” the motion said.

A hearing on the motion is scheduled for Nov. 24.

Associated Wholesalers is a cooperative food distributor and equipment retailer based in Robesonia, Pa., that filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 9, 2014. The Chapter 11 case number is 14-12092.
