Accredited Home Lenders gets OK to garner plan support through Jan. 1

Charlotte, N.C., Oct. 21 - Accredited Home Lenders Holding Co.'s exclusive period to solicit votes on a plan of reorganization was extended to Jan. 1, according to a Thursday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

As previously reported, the company filed its plan of liquidation and related disclosure statement on Sept. 15. Under the plan, its assets will be liquidated and proceeds will be distributed to creditors through a liquidating trust.

Accredited Home is a San Diego-based mortgage banker. It filed for Chapter 11 on May 1, 2009. Its case number is 09-11516.
