Fitch acts on two Dominican banks

Fitch Ratings said it revised the outlook for Dominican banks Banco de Reservas de la Republica Dominicana, Banco de Servicios Multiples (Banreservas) and Banco Multiple BHD, SA (BHD) to positive from stable.

The improved outlook follows a similar action on Dominican Republic's sovereign outlook to positive from stable and banking system’s operating environment (OE) to positive from stable, the agency said.

“The positive outlook on these banks reflects our view that the improvement in the OE will support the financial system to maintain double-digit growth and a healthy financial profile, given the lower inflation and interest rates. The banks' national ratings are not impacted,” Fitch said in a statement.
