SiO2 Medical seeks post-confirmation exclusivity extension

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., July 24 – SiO2 Medical Products, Inc. is seeking an extension of its exclusive periods to file and solicit votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to a motion filed Friday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company asked the court to extend the exclusive plan filing period through Oct. 25 and the exclusive solicitation period through Dec. 6.

SiO2’s Chapter 11 plan was confirmed on July 19, and the debtors are continuing to negotiate the necessary documentation to effectuate the plan and emerge from bankruptcy.

The company said that while it expects the plan to go effective soon, the current exclusivity period, which ends on July 27, could potentially expire prior to the effective date occurring.

“Maintaining the status quo at this juncture is critical as the debtors and their stakeholders work towards consummating the plan,” the company said in the motion.

The Auburn, Ala.-based company creates and manufactures engineered primary packaging container components for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. The company filed bankruptcy on March 29 under Chapter 11 case number 23-10366.
