Mountain Express Oil’s bankruptcy case converted to Chapter 7
By Sarah Lizee
Olympia, Wash., Aug. 25 – Mountain Express Oil Co. had its Chapter 11 bankruptcy case converted to Chapter 7 on Thursday, according to an order filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.
The move follows the appointment of a Chapter 11 trustee earlier this month, a failed sale process and an unsuccessful mediation between the company, its debtor-in-possession lenders and other parties that ended Aug. 15.
Janet S. Northrup has now been appointed as Chapter 7 trustee.
The conversion order also rejects all unexpired leases of non-residential real property, terminates all fuel supply contracts and grants related relief.
The Alpharetta, Ga.-based fuel distributor filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas on March 18 under case number 23-90147.
