Desert Home gets another extension of exclusive plan periods

Olympia, Wash., Oct. 11 – Borrego Community Health Foundation, which does business as Desert Home Care, secured another extension of its exclusive periods to file and solicit votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to an order filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of California.

The court extended the exclusive plan filing period through Jan. 5 from Sept. 7 and the exclusive solicitation period through March 3 from Nov. 4.

The company said that now that the sale of its assets has closed, it is focused on finalizing and filing a joint plan of liquidation with the official committee of unsecured creditors.

The debtor said the exclusivity extension will provide it with additional time to finalize the terms of the plan.

Desert Home said the committee had no objection to the extension.

The San Diego-based provider of in-home skilled nursing services filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Sept. 12, 2022 under case number 22-02384.
