Gissing North America’s Chapter 11 case converted to Chapter 7

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., Jan. 10 – Gissing North America LLC’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy case was converted to Chapter 7 by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, according to an order filed Monday.

As reported in November, the official committee of unsecured creditors had requested the conversion.

In early December, the company told the committee it doesn’t have enough funding to support a liquidating plan and as such agreed to the conversion.

The deadline for professionals to file final fee applications is March 9.

The Bingham Farms, Mich.-based company is a manufacturer of acoustic systems for the automotive industry. The company filed bankruptcy on Aug. 8 under Chapter 11 case number 22-46160.
