Entrust Energy files bankruptcy case with over $50 million of debt

Olympia, Wash., March 30 – Entrust Energy, Inc. filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy Tuesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.

In its petition, the company listed $100 million to $500 million in assets and $50 million to $100 million in liabilities.

The company’s largest unsecured creditors are Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Inc., based in Austin, Tex., with a $270.27 million supply obligations claim, Nippon Gas Co., Ltd., based in Tokyo, with a $59.15 million shareholder loans and interest claim, Nippon Gas USA, Inc., based in Dover, Del., with a $8.65 million shareholder loan and interest claim, Oncor, based in Dallas, with a $2.23 million transmission and distribution service provider (TDSP) claim, Centerpoint, based in Houston, with a $1.95 million TDSP claim, and PJM Nordeo/Neast/Nesday, based in Audubon, Pa., with a $1.78 million cost of goods sold claim.

Baker & Hostetler LLP is serving as legal counsel to the company.

Entrust Energy is a Houston-based retail power provider. The company filed bankruptcy under Chapter 11 case number 21-31070.
