Chicago, Jan. 9 – SSEN Transmission, a subsidiary of SSE plc, issued a new £500 million of 5.5% green bonds due 2044, according to a news release.
The all-in funding cost is 5.575%.
The deal was 3.5x oversubscribed.
This is SSE’s seventh green bond for a total of £3.7 billion, with £1.3 billion issued by SSEN Transmission.
Proceeds will be used to help finance or refinance critical national infrastructure projects.
SSEN Transmission owns, operates and develops the high voltage electricity transmission system in the north of Scotland.
