Williams Industrial seeks extension of exclusive solicitation period

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., April 15 – Williams Industrial Services Group Inc. is seeking a 60-day extension of its exclusive period to solicit votes on a Chapter 11 plan through June 17, according to a motion filed Friday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company has filed a plan of liquidation, as previously reported.

Williams said that since filing the plan, the debtors have engaged in discussions with counsel for its prepetition term lender agent and the official committee of unsecured creditors in an effort to gain support for the plan.

These discussions lead to an agreement in principle that will require revisions to the plan to be filed with the court, the company said.

Atlanta-based Williams Industrial Services is a provider of infrastructure related services to blue-chip customers in energy and industrial end markets. The company filed bankruptcy on July 20, 2023 under Chapter 11 case number 23-10961.
