S&P puts Building Materials on watch

Standard & Poor's said it placed Building Materials Corp. of America's BB- corporate credit and BB senior secured ratings on CreditWatch with negative implications.

The possible downgrade reflects expectation that the ongoing downturn in residential construction will continue to weaken the company's end markets, according to the agency.
