Buffets reports $430,701 loss from operations for Oct. 23 to Nov. 19

Pittsburgh, Dec. 11 - Buffets Holdings, Inc. reported a $430,701 loss from operations for the period of Oct. 23 to Nov. 19 on $104.88 million in total sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Thursday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
In comparison, the company posted a $295,978 loss from operations for the period of Sept. 25 to Oct. 22 on $104.86 million in total sales.
The net loss for the latest period was $11.12 million, widening from a $4.05 million net loss for the previous period.
The company had $37.68 million in cash and cash equivalents at Nov. 19, compared with $44.06 million at Oct. 22.
Buffets Holdings, a steak-buffet restaurant company based in Eagan, Minn., operates restaurants under the names Old Country Buffet, HomeTown Buffet, Ryan's and Fire Mountain. The company filed for bankruptcy on Jan. 22, 2008 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, and its Chapter 11 case number is 08-10141.
