China’s New Oriental Education tallies repurchased 2 1/8% bonds

Concord, N.H., Feb. 25 – New Oriental Education & Technology Group Inc. announced it has repurchased more of its 2 1/8% bonds due 2025 for a total repurchased amount of $181,187,000, according to a 6-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday.
The company has now bought back 60.4% of the issue. The last buyback announcement was on Jan. 26 when $171,577,000, or 57.2%, of the $300 million issue had been repurchased.
After cancellation of the most recently repurchased bonds, there will be $118,813,000, or 39.6%, of the bonds outstanding.
The original notes were listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Ltd. on July 13, 2020.
The private educational services company is based in Beijing.
