Bovie cleared to market suture-removal device

Tampa, Fla., July 25 - Bovie Medical Corp. has received Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance to market its "In-a-Flash" suture-removal device.

The company said the device is designed to remove sutures with a tension-free cut and is anticipated to be used in various human and animal medical procedures.

Bovie said it will feature the "In-a-Flash" device at the Health Industry Distributors Association show held this September in Chicago.

Bovie manufactures electrosurgical products and has headquarters in Melville, N.Y.
