Fitch affirms Gothaer

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed Gothaer Allgemeine Versicherung AG's and Gothaer Lebensversicherung AG's long-term issuer default ratings at A-.

The outlooks are stable.

“The affirmation reflects GA's and GL's (together Gothaer) strong and resilient capitalisation, strong financial performance and well-diversified business mix,” the agency said in a news release.

“These strengths are offset by the adverse impact of continuing low interest rates due to the duration gap between life insurance investments and life liabilities.”
