Bois d'Arc Energy to review strategic alternatives

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., June 5 - Bois d'Arc Energy, Inc. retained Scotia Waterous and Raymond James to assist the board of directors in reviewing strategic alternatives for the company that will enhance stockholder value. The alternatives include a possible sale of the company, although there can be no assurance that the board will decide to undertake any transaction, a news release stated.

The company said that since reporting its first-quarter results, Bois d'Arc has participated in three unsuccessful exploratory wells. In addition, Bois d'Arc participated in another operator's deepwater exploratory prospect but decided not to participate in the well's completion.

Bois d'Arc Energy is an independent oil and gas exploration company based in Houston.
