Maurice Sporting Goods requests OK of two-month exclusivity extension

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, March 19 – Maurice Sporting Goods of Delaware, Inc., formerly Maurice Sporting Goods, Inc., requested an extension of its exclusive periods for filing and soliciting votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to a motion filed Monday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Specifically, Maurice wants to extend its exclusive plan-filing period through May 20 from March 18 and the solicitation period through July 22 from May 13.

According to the motion, since it filed its previous exclusivity extension motion, the company has continued to wind down its estates and prepare for a Chapter 11 plan of liquidation.

Maurice said, in light of the progress it has made and its cooperation in working with other case parties, “it is reasonable and appropriate to extend the exclusive periods.”

A hearing is scheduled for April 29.

Maurice is a Northbrook, Ill.-based distributor of outdoor sporting goods. The company filed bankruptcy on Nov. 20, 2017 under Chapter 11 case number 17-12481.
