Charlotte, N.C., April 1 - The Federal Trade Commission granted early termination of the Hart-Scott-Rodino waiting period in the proposed merger of BMC Software Inc. and BladeLogic, Inc., the government announced on Tuesday.

In March, BMC Software agreed to acquire BladeLogic for $28 cash per share in a deal valued at approximately $800 million.

Houston-based BMC Software provides enterprise management solutions.

BladeLogic, based in Lexington, Mass., provides data center automation software.
