By Toni Weeks

San Diego, Dec. 22 - A meeting of shareholders of BlackRock Strategic Equity Dividend Trust was held Thursday, at which shareholders approved the fund's reorganization with and into BlackRock Enhanced Equity Dividend Trust, according to a press release by BlackRock Advisors, LLC, the funds' investment adviser.

In addition, separate shareholder meetings of BlackRock Equity Dividend Trust and BlackRock Enhanced Equity Dividend Trust were held Thursday in connection with the proposed reorganization of BlackRock Equity Dividend Trust into BlackRock Enhanced Equity Dividend Trust. This meeting was adjourned by the chair to allow additional time to solicit votes for the reorganization and the connected issuance of additional common shares of Blackrock Enhanced Equity Dividend Trust.

The reconvened meeting will be held at 2 p.m. ET on Jan. 26.

BlackRock, an investment management firm, is based in New York.
