Moody's rates Belinvestbank Ba2, B2

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned to Belinvestbank a bank financial strength rating of E+, long-term and short-term local-currency deposit ratings of Ba2 and not-prime, and long-term and short-term foreign-currency deposit ratings of B2 and not-prime.

The outlook is stable.

The ratings are underpinned by the bank's strong market position as the fourth-largest bank in Belarus by assets, capital and retail deposits, Moody's said, as well as acceptable asset quality to date.

The rating is constrained by the bank's modest profitability, capital adequacy and efficiency, as well as weak corporate governance due to the high level of government interference in the bank's business, the agency said.
