By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Nov. 12 – Daiichi Chuo Kisen Kaisha’s Japanese civil rehabilitation proceedings were recognized Thursday by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

Last month, Daiichi Chuo Kisen Kaisha was granted a preliminary injunction, which will prohibit creditor actions from being filed in connection with any company assets during Daiichi’s Chapter 15 bankruptcy proceedings.

Daiichi Chuo, a Tokyo-based bulk carrier, filed bankruptcy on Sept. 29. The Chapter 15 case number is 15-12650.
