R.R. Donnelley completes $1.3 billion purchase of Banta

Charlotte, N.C., Jan. 9 - R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co. said it has completed the $1.3 billion purchase of Banta Corp.

On Oct. 31, R.R. Donnelley announced the agreement to acquire the Menasha, Wis.-based printer for $36.50 per share. The agreement, approved by the boards of directors of both companies, included a $34.2 million termination fee and was expected to close in the first quarter of 2007, according to a news release.

R.R. Donnelley is a Chicago-based full-service provider of print and related services.
