Warwick votes three to board, shareholders reject proposal to sell company

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., May 3 - Warwick Valley Telephone Co. elected the following people to its board of directors at its annual meeting held on April 27: Jeffery D. Alario, Wisner H. Buckbee and Douglas J. Mello.

They were elected for three-year terms as class II directors. Buckbee was also named chairman of the board.

Thomas H. Gray was elected to fill the remaining one-year term of the class III directorship formerly held by Corinna S. Lewis.

Shareholders approved the selection of WithumSmith+Brown, PC as the company's independent accountants through Dec. 31.

The proposal to sell the Warwick, N.Y., communication services company at auction was defeated by more than a 2 to 1 margin, according to a company news release.

Shareholders also voted down a proposal urging that the quarterly dividend to shareholders be significantly increased.
