Vivus files $80 million stock shelf

Des Moines, July 17 - Vivus Inc. filed an $80 million shelf registration for common stock in an S-3 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Vivus had 48,382,517 outstanding shares of common stock as of June 30, according to the filing.

The company will use the proceeds for general corporate purposes.

Vivus is a Mountain View, Calif. based pharmaceutical company focused on products that address obesity and sexual health.
