Virtus Market Neutral Fund wants more flexible subadviser agreements

By Toni Weeks

San Diego, Dec. 19 - The board of trustees of the Virtus Market Neutral Fund approved on Nov. 17 subadvisory agreements between the fund and F-Squared Institutional Advisors, LLC and Euclid Advisors LLC, according to a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The proposals require shareholder agreement. A meeting of shareholders will be held Jan. 31 for that purpose.

Virtus also is asking shareholders to agree to modify the fees paid under the fund's investment advisory agreement with San Francisco-based Virtus Investment Advisers, Inc., the fund's investment adviser.

In addition, Virtus wants its investment adviser to be able to hire, terminate and replace subadvisers for the fund or to modify subadvisory agreements without shareholder approval.
