Viasys' NeuroCare unit releases new software for its Transcranial Doppler systems

By E. Janene Geiss

Philadelphia, May 30 - Viasys Healthcare Inc. said Saturday that its NeuroCare business unit has released V3.7 WinTCD software for its peripheral vascular and Transcranial Doppler equipment.

The software's release has enhanced the capabilities of the company's Pioneer and Companion Transcranial Doppler systems by expanding the patient base from neonatal to adult and allowing for easier signal acquisition in challenging cases, according to a company news release.

The Food and Drug Administration has approved the systems for the neonatal and pediatric markets, for detection of Patent Foramen Ovale and Embolic events in addition to adult cephalic, peripheral vascular and IOM applications, officials said.

Viasys is a Conshohocken, Pa., research-based medical technology company focused on respiratory, neurology, medical disposable and orthopedic products.
