PerkinElmer clears waiting period hurdle in tender for ViaCell

Charlotte, N.C., Oct. 25 - The Hart-Scott-Rodino waiting period has ended in PerkinElmer, Inc.'s $7.25-per-share cash tender offer for ViaCell, Inc., it was announced on Thursday.

PerkinElmer subsidiary Victor Acquisition Corp. began the tender offer on Oct. 12, with the offer slated to end at midnight ET on Nov. 8.

PerkinElmer is a Waltham, Mass.-based health sciences and photonics company. ViaCell is a biotechnology company based in Cambridge, Mass.
