Veris Gold’s CCAA stay of proceedings extended by court to Oct. 10

New York, Sept. 12 – Veris Gold Corp.’s stay of proceedings under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act has been extended to Oct. 10 by the Supreme Court of British Columbia, according to a news release.

The extension was effective Sept. 4, Veris Gold said.

Veris said that the court also recognized the final cash collateral order conditioning the use of cash collateral and providing adequate protection to Deutsche Bank AG, London Branch, and approved a claim process for creditors to file claims against Veris.

In a Sept. 9 order, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nevada recognized the Canadian order approving the claim process.

The company has been operating under CCAA protection and Chapter 15 bankruptcy since June 9.

Veris is a Vancouver, B.C.-based gold production company. The Chapter 15 case number in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nevada is 14-51015.
