Van Kampen's Series 1202 offers BRIC, Global Alternative Energy units

Minneapolis, March 15 - Van Kampen Unit Trusts, Series 1202 is offering units of its BRIC Opportunity Portfolio 2012-2 and Global Alternative Energy Portfolio 2012-2, according to an S-6 amendment filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The depositor is Houston-based Van Kampen Funds Inc.

The BRIC Opportunity portfolio seeks above-average capital appreciation by investing in a portfolio of stocks of companies incorporated in or with headquarters or a significant presence in Brazil, Russia, India or China. Horizon Investment Services, LLC selected the portfolio using its Quadrix rating system.

On the initial date of deposit, March 15, $148,646 in contracts to purchase securities comprises the trust. The 15,015 units each have a public offering price of $10 and a net asset value of $9.655. The estimated net annual income is $0.22856 per unit.

The units each carry a maximum sales charge of 2.95%, consisting of a 1% initial sales charge, a 1.45% deferred sales charge and a 0.5% creation and development fee. The sales charge may be reduced on a sliding scale to 1.2% depending on the amount of the investment.

The Global Alternative Energy Portfolio seeks total return by investing in a portfolio of 25 stocks derived from the Ardour Global Index. The AGIGL Index is designed to serve as an equity benchmark for globally traded stocks of companies that are principally engaged in the field of alternative energy technologies.

On the initial date of deposit, March 15, $148,663 in contracts to purchase securities comprises the trust. The 15,017 units each have a public offering price of $10 and a net asset value of $9.555.

The units each carry a maximum sales charge of 3.95%, consisting of a 1% initial sales charge, a 2.45% deferred sales charge and a 0.5% creation and development fee. The sales charge may be reduced on a sliding scale to 2.45% depending on the amount of the investment.

The BRIC portfolio trust has a mandatory termination date of June 14, 2013. The Global Alternative Energy Portfolio trust has a mandatory termination date of March 6, 2014.
