S&P affirms Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León

Standard & Poor's said it affirmed its mxA national-scale rating on Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León.

The outlook remains positive.

According to S&P, the rating on Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León is supported by stable levels of federal and state support and a solid student demand for the university's programs as well as an adequate budgetary performance, reflected in a double-digit surplus during the past five years.

The agency said that the rating is constrained by lack of diversified income sources, given that Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León depends heavily upon federal and state transfers and an important portion of fixed-to-variable costs that limits the university's flexibility to reduce expenses, if necessary.
