By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Oct. 1 - The U.S. federal antitrust agencies granted early termination of the Hart-Scott-Rodino waiting period in the proposed merger of United Retail Group, Inc. and Redcats USA, Inc., a subsidiary of Redcats Group.

Redcats agreed to acquire United Retail for $13.70 per share in a cash tender offer that began Sept. 25. The offer is scheduled to end at midnight ET on Oct. 23, according to a news release.

Redcats Group is a New York home shopping marketer of apparel and home products. United Retail is a Rochelle Park, N.J., specialty retailer of large-size women's fashion apparel, footwear and accessories.
