Tribune seeks exclusivity extension to solicit plan acceptances

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., April 30 - Tribune Co. requested an extension to its exclusive period to solicit acceptances of a Chapter 11 plan of reorganization to Aug. 8, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

An extension is warranted to facilitate solicitation and confirmation of the plan, the filing said.

A hearing is scheduled for May 20.

Tribune, a Chicago-based media company, filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 8, 2008. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-13141.
