Telefónica extends offer for CTC to Jan. 6

Charlotte, N.C., Dec. 16 - Telefónica, SA extended its tender offer for all of the outstanding shares of series A common stock and series B common stock of Compania de Telecomunicaciones de Chile SA in the United States to 3:30 p.m. ET on Jan. 6.

The offer also includes all of CTC's outstanding American Depositary Shares each representing 4 series A shares, according to a Telefónica news release.

Telefónica said its concurrent tender offer in Chile for all outstanding shares of CTC is also extended to Jan. 6.

Both the U.S. and the Chilean tender offers were originally scheduled to expire at 3:30 p.m. ET on Dec. 31.

It was previously reported that Telefónica indirectly owned 96.75% of CTC.

Based in Madrid, Telefónica provides fixed and mobile telephony services through telecommunications networks in Spain, Europe and Latin America. CTC is a Santiago, Chile, telecommunications company.
