Symbion shareholders to decide merger on August 15

Charlotte, N.C., July 16 - Symbion, Inc. will hold a special meeting of shareholders on Aug. 15 at 10 a.m. ET to vote on the proposed acquisition of the company by Symbol Acquisition, LLC, an affiliate of Crestview Partners, LP.

Shareholders of record as of July 2 are entitled to vote, according to a schedule 14A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Under the merger agreement, Symbion shareholders will receive $22.35 cash per share. A termination fee of $12.5 million is included in the deal.

Symbion is a Nashville, Tenn., owner and operator of short-stay surgical facilities.
