Sustainable North American Oil Sands ETF plans launch

By Toni Weeks

San Diego, Jan. 20 - Exchange Traded Concepts Trust plans to launch a new fund that will invest in securities of oil sands companies, according to an N-1A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The Sustainable North American Oil Sands ETF will seek to provide investment results that correspond generally, before fees and expenses, to the price and yield performance of the Sustainable North American Oil Sands Index. The new ETF will normally invest at least 80% of its total assets in securities of the index or in depositary receipts representing securities of the index.

The index is designed to measure the performance of companies whose business activities in the North American oil sands include oil exploration, production, refinement, marketing, storage, transportation, provision of equipment and/or provision of services. The index provider is Sustainable Wealth Management Ltd.

The portfolio manager has not been selected. Likewise, fees have not yet been detailed.

The fund will trade on the NYSE Arca under the symbol "SNDS."

Oklahoma City-based Exchange Traded Concepts, LLC will be the investment adviser.
