Staar Surgical gets FDA export permit for Monrovia, Calif., factory

Washington, Nov. 23 - Staar Surgical Co. said it received certificates from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Friday that will allow it to export the full product line it produces at its Monrovia, Calif., facility.

The action means the FDA certifies that during the agency's last inspection of the Monrovia manufacturing facility appeared to be in substantial compliance with current good manufacturing practice requirements for the products listed on the certificates.

Monrovia, Calif.-based Staar develops, produces and distributes products used in micro or less invasive ophthalmic surgery.

The announcement was made in an 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
