Staar Surgical files $15 million shelf registration

Des Moines, Aug. 1 - Staar Surgical Co. filed a $15 million shelf registration in an S-3 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Common stock, preferred stock, warrants and debt securities are covered by the filing. The securities may be structured as convertibles.

The proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.

Monrovia, Calif.-based Staar Surgical develops and manufactures visual implants and other ophthalmic products.
