Southern Copper investor reports 79.76% stake

Charlotte, N.C., March 4 - Grupo Mexico, SAB de CV has purchased 4,674,884 shares of Southern Copper Corp. for a total of $62.22 million since Dec. 4, according to a schedule 13D/A filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The investor beneficially owns 678,794,884 shares, or 79.76%, of Southern Copper's total outstanding shares of common stock, the filing said.

Phoenix-based Southern Copper produces and sells copper, molybdenum, zinc, silver, lead and gold.
