Sound Shore liquidation plan accepted by majority of voting creditors

Pittsburgh, Oct. 27 – Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester’s first amended plan of liquidation was accepted by a majority of voting creditors, according to a Monday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

Specifically, 173 holders, or 96.65% in number, of $121.58 million, or 97.87% in amount, of general unsecured claims voted to accept the plan, while six holders, or 3.35% in number, of $2.65 million, or 2.13% in amount, of those claims voted to reject it.

The plan confirmation hearing is scheduled for Nov. 3.

Sound Shore, a New Rochelle, N.Y., medical center, filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy on May 29, 2013. Its Chapter 11 case number is 13-22840.
